Pre & Post-Ceremony Care

24-48 Hours Before Your Sacred Ceremony

  • No alcohol, recreational drugs, or cigarettes.
  • No caffeine, i.e. coffee or tea.
  • Take time to meditate on an intention for your Sacred Ceremony.

The Day Of Your Sacred Ceremony

  • No alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, or recreational drugs.
  • Do not eat for 2 hours prior to your Sacred Ceremony.
  • Remove contact lenses.
  • Remove all jewelry.

During Your Sacred Ceremony

  • You are responsible for yourself. If you need to go to the bathroom, go. If something doesn't feel well, tell your Practitioner. If you need to adjust yourself to be more physically comfortable, adjust yourself. If you need a tissue, reach for a tissue.
  • Completely relax. Go "jelly" and become floppy. Do not try to help or assist the Practitioner in any way.
  • Allow yourself to feel everything that may arise: Sensations, emotions, images, memories, rhythms, temperatures, and including those that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
  • Consider all feelings that may arise members of your family. All are welcome here.
  • If you feel like crying, cry. If you feel like making noise, make noise. Be as you are.
  • Keep your attention inside of yourself. Do not try to "watch" the Practitioner or follow the movements.
  • Stay in your own experience.
  • Do not try to control or force an experience to begin or to end. Let go of expectations. Surrender control and allow whatever is meant to happen, to happen.
  • Accept and allow whatever is, to be.

Immediately After Your Sacred Ceremony

  • Plan open-ended time after your ceremony (at least a 1/2 day recommended for reintegration).
  • Do not shower until at least 3 hours after your Ceremony has concluded as the oil used retains the resonance of the work.
  • You may be extremely sensitive. Listen to your body and give yourself what you need (i.e. rest, food, water, time in nature, etc.).
  • No alcohol, caffeine, cigarettes, or recreational drugs.

Three Days After Your Sacred Ceremony

  • Observe and listen to your body as the work continues its resonance.
  • Take care of yourself and do what feels nourishing.
  • No alcohol, cigarettes, or recreational drugs.
